With school just 10 days away in our district (yes, that was a "Yippee!" you heard from me), it was time this week to go for the annual school supply trek. No matter how old kids get, they still love the thrill of hunting down just the right erasers, folders and map colors. But school supplies aren't cheap, so I try to keep a school supply budget in mind.
In addition to the school district-issued list, through the years I've added a few goodies of my own:
- Raised line paper. This paper has raised lines to help writers feel where to stop and stay in the lines.
- Pencil grip. Basic, but always help the kids get a better grasp on the pencil.
- Zippered binder. It's better than a regular binder because it keeps papers from scattering.
